Do I really make a difference by playing the game?

Yes! With the revenue generated from advertisements on this website we buy trees from the not for profit organization called Trees For The Future which over their lifetime will absorb 1 ton of CO2 each. Every time you play the game on the main page we buy enough trees to offset the CO2 emissions you earned throughout game play.

How much CO2 does planting these trees offset?

It has been proven that trees planted in the tropics take in much more CO2 then anywhere else in the world, this is why we focus our tree planting efforts in this region. “Each tree planted in the humid tropics absorbs 50 pounds of carbon dioxide every year for at least 40 years - each tree will absorb 1 ton of CO2 over its lifetime!” (Trees For The Future)

Yet because we know that it is only in ideal situations that the trees planted will offset a full ton of CO2, we have decided to plant two trees for every ton offset through the game on FreeYourFootprint.com

Do you have other subjects in the game?

We are currently in the preliminary phase of this project, once traffic increases we will include other categories such as vocabulary, language learning and random trivia but for now we are focusing on environmental questions.

How can I help make a bigger difference?
